From the Director
After two years as the director of the Chamber, Danville/Boyle County has truly become my home. Challenged by an impressive history that began in 1919, my objective is to increase Chamber effectiveness, broaden service to members, and to continue traditions that have led some to call Danville, “the best little town in the whole wide world.”
The Chamber is a unified voice that advances the economic well-being and quality of life in this community, and it is my goal to hear the voice of every member. Our organization is powered by dynamic volunteers and serves as a catalyst to improve the business climate, enhance business opportunities, and present a common voice to governmental bodies, all for continuous improvement in our community. While Danville/Boyle County is a great place just as it is, we must prepare for the inevitability of change. Since its founding, Danville has exemplified foresight, a characteristic that is noted by the name of our monthly newsletter, Foresight.
Over the years, the Chamber spawned the Industrial Foundation, the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Heart of Danville Main Street Program, the Great American Brass Band Festival, and the Constitution Square Festival. All are now vital independent entities. Current Chamber programs, such as Leadership Boyle County for both adults and teens, will foster a continuum of the uncommon level of volunteer leadership that benefits our community.
With more than 530 members, the Chamber is the largest business organization serving Boyle County. The Chamber represents a wide variety of businesses and organizations, providing effective advocacy and enhancing marketing opportunities in this dynamic, thriving community. If you’re doing business in the Boyle County area, we invite you to consider the benefits of Chamber membership. You may apply for membership online, or contact the Chamber office at 859-236-2361 or via email to info@danvilleboylechamber.com.
