Boyle County Voter Eligibility & Registration Information
Residents may register to vote if they meet the following requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen and a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days.
- Be 18 years of age by the date of the next General Election, which is held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November.

- Not be a convicted felon. Individuals convicted of a felony must have their civil rights restored before registering to vote.
- Not have been declared mentally incompetent by a court of law.
- Not claim the right to vote outside the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
If you meet these requirements, you may register to vote by completing a voter registration card and submitting it to the Boyle County Clerk's Office. You may contact the Clerk's Office to have a registration card mailed to you, or you can register online using the link above.
Political Party Affiliation
Kentucky voters must designate a political party affiliation when registering to vote. Accepted party affiliations are:
- Democrat
- Republican
- Other
Because Kentucky conducts closed primary elections, voters must be registered as either a Democrat or Republican to vote in that party's primary election.
Voters registered as "Other" may vote only for nonpartisan offices, such as judicial races, city commission seats, and school board positions, during primary elections. All registered voters may vote for any candidate in General Elections.
Note: You may change your political party affiliation at any time after the May Primary Election through December 31 and remain eligible to vote in the following year's primary election.
Additional Places to Obtain Voter Registration Forms
Voter registration forms are also available through:
- Circuit Clerk's Office (Driver Licensing): Applying for or renewing a driver's license can generate voter registration applications or updates to an existing voter registration.
- Public Assistance Programs: Including the Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP), Food Stamps, WIC, and Medicaid offices.
- Armed Forces Recruitment Offices: For individuals considering military service.
- High Schools: Eligible students may register at school.
- Federal Mail-In Voter Registration Forms.
Registration Deadlines
Voter registrations and registration updates must be submitted no later than 28 days before an election.
Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a notification confirming your registration address and identifying your assigned polling location.
Civic Engagement in Boyle County & Beyond
Dear Employers, Business Leaders, and Community Leaders,
At the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, we believe thriving businesses and strong communities go hand in hand. The success of our region depends not only on economic growth, but also on the engagement of the people who live and work here.
As employers, we have a unique opportunity to encourage civic participation and help build a stronger, more connected community. Civic engagement extends beyond Election Day. It includes volunteering, serving on boards and committees, participating in local government, staying informed about issues that impact our communities, and exercising the right to vote.
Through our Ballots for Boyle & Beyond initiative, we encourage businesses throughout our region to consider ways they can support civic engagement among their employees. Small actions can make a meaningful difference:
- Share nonpartisan voter registration and election resources with employees.
- Encourage employees to make a plan to vote and stay informed about upcoming elections.
- Offer flexibility in work schedules when possible to help employees participate in the voting process.
- Support volunteerism and service opportunities throughout the community.
- Encourage involvement in local leadership, boards, commissions, and community organizations.
- Foster a workplace culture that values informed, respectful civic participation.
These efforts are not about politics or partisanship. They are about strengthening our communities, investing in the future of our region, and empowering individuals to make their voices heard.
When businesses support civic engagement, we help create a more connected workforce, encourage community leadership, and contribute to the long-term vitality of Boyle County and the surrounding region.
Thank you for all you do to support your employees, your community, and the continued success of our region. We invite you to join us in promoting civic engagement and helping ensure that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in shaping our shared future.
