The program was formed by the Chamber in 1983 as a non-profit leadership program designed to further the development of the talents and energies of Boyle County’s present and future leaders.

What Is Leadership Boyle County?
Leadership Boyle County (LBC) is a professionally guided, nine-month program designed to develop future community leaders. Participants explore the issues, opportunities, & resources that shape our region. From local government & education to healthcare, economic development, industry, community resources, & the arts, you’ll discover parts of our county you may not have known existed.
Along the way, you'll build meaningful relationships with peers & mentors, gaining the insight & confidence needed to make a difference in your workplace, neighborhood, & larger community network.

Program Highlights

- We come together to celebrate the class, recognize their accomplishments, & highlight their contributions to our community.

Whether you’re an emerging leader or a seasoned professional, this program is for those who want to better understand our community, build meaningful connections, & lead with purpose. Participants come from all sectors—business, education, health care, nonprofit, & civic service—each brings a valuable perspective to the experience.

We invite local businesses and organizations to sponsor two applicants for the upcoming Leadership Boyle County class. When you step in as a sponsor, you’re doing more than supporting an individual—you’re helping shape a stronger, more connected Boyle County through engaged, community-minded leaders. If you’re ready to grow, connect, & lead in new ways, we encourage you to apply. This program is designed to be meaningful & impactful. We ask that you carefully consider your ability to commit. To graduate, participants must attend at least 90% of scheduled sessions.
Applications submitted before June 1, 2026 will be reviewed.
Applicants will be notified of their status by June 6, 2026.
This valuable insight is offered to long-time residents, as well as to newcomers to our community. One of the strengths of the program has been the wonderful cross-section of participants we have had in the past, and we would like to continue this by encouraging applicants from all areas of our community. Leadership Boyle County has graduated over 300 people from such diverse backgrounds as bankers, educators, small business owners, farmers, media and public relations people, medical and legal professionals and from various positions in industry.
